What a fantastic evening of racing we had at Sevenoaks Model Car Club for the Summer Championship – Round 1! The hall was buzzing with excitement as drivers battled it out across multiple classes.
Short Course Truck
Alan Culham was the star of the Short Course Truck class, taking victory in the A Final with a commanding 20 laps. He also secured wins in several of the heats, demonstrating superb pace throughout the evening. Keith Griggs finished second in the A Final, with Andrew Boakes taking third.
Buggy
The Buggy class saw some incredibly close racing. Tom Jones was on top form in the A Final, taking a brilliant win with 22 laps. Ian Foxwell secured a strong second place, just ahead of Toby Halstead who completed the A Final podium. Tim Webb also had a great run, taking the win in the B Final.
Touring Car
In the Touring Car class, Steve Jenner put in a stellar performance to win the A Final. He completed an impressive 23 laps, setting a blistering pace. Ian Webb took second place, with Tim Halstead rounding out the top three in the A Final.
Tamiya Tourers
The Tamiya Tourers class was hotly contested. Mark Shepherd was the victor in the A Final, crossing the line after 22 laps. Tim Webb finished a close second, with Damian Brown completing the podium. Ian Foxwell showed his skill by winning the B Final, while Sophie Cowe took the win in the C Final.
It was a truly memorable night of RC racing! A special mention must go to Tim Webb, who made an incredible eight podium appearances across the different classes. Ian Foxwell was also incredibly consistent, appearing on seven podiums. Alan Culham, Keith Griggs, and Andrew Boakes all achieved four podiums each. Well done to everyone who raced!
