What a fantastic evening of racing we had at Sevenoaks Model Car Club's Summer Championship Round 5! The hall was buzzing with excitement as our members battled it out on the track.
Short Course Truck
The Short Course Truck class saw some great racing. In the A Final, Toby Halstead took a well-deserved win, completing 19 laps. Tim Halstead finished a close second, just behind Toby, with Alan Culham securing third place.
Buggy
The Buggy class delivered incredibly close competition. Nick Stokes was on top form in the A Final, taking victory with 21 laps. James Campbell finished strongly in second, and Ian Foxwell rounded out the A Final podium. Holly Weaver set the fastest lap of the Buggy A Final.
Touring Car
The Touring Car races were hotly contested throughout the evening. Ian Cowe claimed victory in the A Final, also completing 21 laps. James Weaver took second place, with Adam Gammage finishing third. James Weaver also set the fastest lap of the Touring Car A Final.
Tamiya Tourers
The Tamiya Tourers provided a full spectrum of racing, with B and C Finals showcasing great talent. Mark Shepherd won the B Final, while Polly Gammage took the win in the C Final. In the Tamiya Tourers A Final, Mark K Shepherd took the chequered flag after a superb drive, with Jack Brown in second and Damian Brown in third. Sophie Cowe set the fastest lap of the night across all Tamiya Tourer races.
Several drivers put in consistently strong performances across multiple classes and races. Ian Foxwell made an impressive six podium appearances throughout the evening, while Tim Halstead was on the podium five times. Alan Culham, Toby Halstead, and Nick Stokes each secured four podium finishes. The fastest lap of the entire night belonged to Holly Weaver in the Buggy class, with an incredible time of 13.36 seconds. It was a brilliant night of RC racing for everyone at SMCC!
