SMCC Summer Championship Round 9: Short Course Truck A Final
What a sensational conclusion to the Short Course Truck A Final here at Sevenoaks Model Car Club! Tim Halstead has taken a hard-fought victory, crossing the line after 20 laps with a gap of 3.96 seconds over his brother, Toby Halstead. It wasn't a lights-to-flag affair for Tim, however. He battled back from being a lap down to Toby on lap 11, reclaiming the lead on lap 16 to secure the win.
Early in the race, it was Alan Culham who set the pace, leading from the start until lap 4 when Tim Halstead made his move. Alan stayed in contention, holding second for a few laps before dropping back. Toby Halstead also showed strong pace, taking the lead on lap 11 and holding it for five laps, but ultimately couldn't hold off Tim's late charge. James Campbell fought valiantly, finishing third on 19 laps. Despite not finishing higher, Alan Culham still claimed the fastest lap of the race with an impressive 13.74 seconds.
Keith Griggs finished in fifth position, completing 15 laps, with Andrew Boakes also completing 15 laps to take sixth. Unfortunately, Damian Brown was unable to complete a lap in this final. A fantastic display of racing from all our drivers tonight!
