Race 1 - Short Course Truck Recap
What a fantastic show we had in the Short Course Truck class tonight! Andrew Boakes took a hard-fought victory, but it wasn't without its drama. Andrew led the opening laps, but Toby Halstead was on a charge. Toby took the lead on lap 9 and looked to have it sewn up, even setting the fastest lap of the race with a blistering 13.700s. He held that lead for three laps, steadily pulling away.
However, the lead changed hands once more on the penultimate lap. In a dramatic twist, Andrew Boakes fought back to reclaim the lead on lap 12. Toby Halstead, having completed 11 laps, was unable to respond and finished the race a lap down, albeit having climbed two places from his starting position.
Keith Griggs ran a consistent race, holding third for the majority of the event. Despite a few larger lap times, he managed to bring his truck home in third position, completing 10 laps and rounding out the podium.
