Race 3 - Touring Car Recap
What a finish to Race 3 in the Touring Car class! Ian Webb takes the win, but only just, crossing the line a mere 0.45 seconds ahead of a charging Craig Playfoot. Playfoot looked to have the measure of the field for large chunks of the race, taking the lead on lap 3 and holding it until lap 9. Webb responded, however, and with just six laps remaining, he was back out in front. Playfoot fought back valiantly, regaining the lead on lap 14, only for Webb to mount his final charge, snatching the lead back for good on lap 16. Webb also set the fastest lap of the race with a blistering 13.22 seconds.
Martin Timms ran a consistent race to secure third place, completing 16 laps. He held a steady third for most of the contest, finishing ahead of Jason Weaver, who retired after 10 laps. Weaver had qualified well, running in third for the opening lap, but couldn't maintain that pace. It was a hard-fought race for the lead, showcasing some excellent driving from both Ian Webb and Craig Playfoot right down to the wire.
