Race 4 - Touring Car Recap
What a race we witnessed in the Touring Car class tonight at Sevenoaks Model Car Club! Ian Cowe dominated the early stages, taking the lead on lap two and holding it all the way to lap 14, setting the fastest lap of the race with a blistering 13.72 seconds. However, Steve Jenner, who initially led, fought back valiantly in the closing laps, reclaiming P1 on lap 15 and holding on to take the win. Jenner finished with a total time of 243.01 seconds, just 6.04 seconds ahead of a persistent Damian Brown.
Damian Brown had a strong run, climbing two places from his starting position to secure a well-deserved second place. While he couldn't quite match the pace of the leaders in the final laps, his consistent driving saw him finish ahead of the rest of the field. It was a tough night for Ian Cowe and James Weaver, who both retired after lap 14, leaving the door open for Jenner and Brown to battle for the top spots. Martin Timms completed 13 laps, finishing just ahead of Craig Playfoot, who ran a strong seven laps before the close of the race.
