Race 4 - Touring Car: Jenner Takes the Win After Early Battle
What a fantastic drive from Steve Jenner to take victory in tonight's Touring Car race! He came from second on lap two, taking the lead from James Weaver, and never looked back. Jenner's pace was relentless, setting the fastest lap of the race on lap 18 with a blistering 12.65 seconds, and maintaining a gap to the chasing pack throughout. He finished with a comfortable margin, proving a class apart.
The real story of the night, however, was the incredible fight for the remaining podium places. Craig Playfoot, starting down in sixth, put in a stellar performance to climb through the field. He battled hard with Ian Webb and Damian Brown for much of the race. Playfoot eventually secured second place on lap 17, finishing just 0.08 seconds ahead of Ian Webb who took the final podium spot. Damian Brown came home in fourth, less than half a second behind Webb.
James Weaver, who led the early laps, dropped back to fifth by the chequered flag. Martin Timms brought his car home in sixth, completing 16 laps. Unfortunately, Ian Cowe was unable to complete any laps. A brilliant effort from all our racers tonight at Sevenoaks Model Car Club!
