2026 Summer Championship - Round 1: Touring Car Race 4
What a race we've just seen at Sevenoaks Model Car Club! Ian Cowe takes the win in the Touring Car class, finishing with a total time of 251.50 seconds. It wasn't a lights-to-flag victory though, as Steve Jenner snatched the lead on lap two. Jenner held on to P1 until lap nine, when Ian Cowe fought back to reclaim the lead and hold it for the remainder of the race. Cowe’s consistency in the latter half was key, with his gap to leader staying at zero from lap nine onwards.
Steve Jenner had to settle for second, just 1.49 seconds behind Cowe at the flag, despite setting the fastest lap of the race with a blistering 13.27 seconds. Tim Halstead put in a strong drive to secure third place, completing 17 laps. He battled hard throughout, often running in third position behind the lead pair, and managed to cross the line ahead of Ian Webb, who finished fourth having completed 16 laps. Martin Timms rounded out the top five after 14 laps. James Weaver unfortunately did not finish the race.
