2026 Summer Championship - Round 1: Touring Car Race 4 Recap
What a sensational opening round to the Summer Championship! The Touring Car class delivered a fantastic spectacle this evening, and it was Steve Jenner who ultimately took the victory after a strong drive. Jenner, starting from second on the grid, made his move for the lead on Lap 2, taking the position from Ian Cowe and never looking back. He put in a phenomenal performance, setting the fastest lap of the race with a blistering 13.12 seconds and maintaining an impressive consistency to hold onto P1.
Ian Cowe put up a valiant fight, leading from the start and holding onto second place for the majority of the race. Despite Jenner's consistent pace, Cowe stayed within striking distance for much of the run, finishing just under eight seconds behind Jenner. Tim Halstead rounded out the podium places, bringing his car home in third on 17 laps, a lap down on the leaders but ahead of Ian Webb who finished fourth.
Martin Timms and James Weaver completed the field, finishing fifth and sixth respectively. All drivers demonstrated great skill and sportsmanship on the polished hall floor, setting the stage for what promises to be an exciting season ahead here at Sevenoaks Model Car Club.
