Tamiya Tourers: McKerrow Dominates Round 1
The opening round of the 2026 Summer Championship for the Tamiya Tourers class saw Peter McKerrow take a commanding victory tonight at Sevenoaks Model Car Club. From the moment the lights went out, McKerrow was in a class of his own, leading every single lap of the race. His consistent pace was underlined by him setting the fastest lap of the entire event, a blistering 18.600 seconds, as he pulled away from the field.
Ollie Gammage fought valiantly to keep McKerrow in sight and ultimately secured a strong second position, completing 10 laps. Despite a significant gap to the leader at the finish, Gammage showed determination throughout the race. Delilah Clark battled her way up from fourth on lap one to claim the final podium spot, finishing third with 8 laps completed after an early tussle with Robert Bevan.
Robert Bevan finished the race in fourth, completing 6 laps. Sophie Cowe showed flashes of pace with the third-quickest opening lap of the race but unfortunately retired early, finishing in fifth. A clean and exciting race for the Tamiya Tourers, setting a high bar for the rest of the championship.
