Tamiya Tourers Shine in Round 1 Thriller
What a fantastic start to the Sevenoaks Model Car Club's 2026 Summer Championship! The Tamiya Tourers class certainly delivered on track, with Ian Foxwell taking a dominant victory. From the moment the lights went out, Ian was in a class of his own, leading every single lap of the race. His consistent pace, highlighted by the fastest lap of the night at a blistering 14.72 seconds, kept the rest of the field pushing hard but ultimately unable to catch him.
Martin Timms secured a solid second place, finishing just 2.65 seconds behind Ian after 16 laps. While Martin couldn't quite challenge for the win, he showed excellent consistency, maintaining second position throughout the entire race. Behind him, the battle for the final podium spot was fierce. Oscar Pay ran in third for the majority of the race, completing 15 laps in total and crossing the line to claim third place.
Further down the order, Donna Belton-Timms put in a determined effort to finish fourth, completing 13 laps. Polly Gammage rounded out the top five, reaching 10 laps on the clock. A great night's racing from all our Tamiya Tourer drivers!
