2026 Summer Championship - Round 1: Touring Car Race 4 Recap
What a finish we've just seen here at Sevenoaks Model Car Club! Steve Jenner has taken the win in the Touring Car race, but it wasn't without a fight. After leading the pack from lap 2 onwards, Jenner held on to take the chequered flag. Ian Cowe had a strong start, leading lap 1, but eventually finished second, just 0.02 seconds behind Jenner at lap 2 and ultimately 10.28 seconds behind after 18 laps to Jenner's 19.
The battle for the final podium spot was intense. Ian Webb showed great pace, climbing from fifth on the grid to finish a well-deserved third, completing 17 laps. He made a significant move up the order early on, and fought hard to maintain his position. Tim Halstead also put in a solid drive, finishing just behind Webb in fourth, also on 17 laps. James Weaver had a challenging afternoon, completing 16 laps and rounding out the top five. Martin Timms completed 15 laps to finish sixth.
Steve Jenner also set the fastest lap of the race, a blistering 12.600 seconds, demonstrating his consistent speed throughout the event. This was a fantastic showcase of RC racing talent from all our drivers!
