What a fantastic night of racing here at the Sevenoaks Model Car Club for the 2026 Summer Championship opener! In the Tamiya Tourers class, it was Peter McKerrow who absolutely dominated Race 5. From the moment the flag dropped, Peter was in a class of his own, leading every single lap of the race. His pace was relentless, posting a blistering fastest lap of 17.44 seconds on lap eight, a time no one else could get close to. He crossed the line with a commanding lead, taking a deserved victory.
Behind Peter, the battle for the remaining podium places was equally intense. Sophie Cowe settled into second place on lap one and held it for the entirety of the race, her consistent driving securing her a solid second spot on the podium. Meanwhile, Ollie Gammage made a brilliant recovery after starting in fifth. He fought his way up to third by lap two and held that position to the chequered flag, completing a strong drive to take third place overall.
Robert Bevan and Delilah Clark both showed flashes of pace, running in fourth and fifth respectively for much of the early laps. Both drivers completed seven laps before the finish. A brilliant display from Peter McKerrow, a strong second from Sophie Cowe, and a hard-fought third for Ollie Gammage rounds out a brilliant opening fixture!
