Tamiya Tourers: Foxwell Takes Round 1 Win in Thrilling Opener
What a start to the 2026 Summer Championship for our Tamiya Tourers! Ian Foxwell has taken a hard-fought victory in Race 6, crossing the line after 16 laps with a total time of 240.57 seconds. It wasn't a lights-to-flag affair for Ian, however. Martin Timms initially took the lead on lap 1, holding it until lap 2 when Ian made his move. Martin responded valiantly, snatching the lead back on lap 4, but Ian was not to be denied, reclaiming the top spot on lap 5 and holding it firmly for the remainder of the race. Ian’s fastest lap of 14.18 seconds demonstrates his consistent pace throughout the final laps.
Martin Timms put in a strong performance to secure second place, finishing just 4.7 seconds behind Ian after 16 laps. He showed great determination, battling back into the lead mid-race. Third place went to Oscar Pay, who completed 15 laps. While he couldn't quite match the pace of the front two and was a lap down, Oscar’s position on the podium is well-earned.
Donna Belton-Timms finished fourth having completed 13 laps, with Polly Gammage rounding out the top five after 4 laps. A great effort from all drivers tonight as we kick off the championship season here at Sevenoaks Model Car Club!
