What a finish we've just witnessed in the Tamiya Tourers here at Sevenoaks Model Car Club! Mark Shepherd has taken a hard-fought victory, but it was anything but straightforward. He led for the vast majority of the race, holding off a charging Tim Webb. Webb, who started in fourth, fought his way up and actually took the lead on lap 18, completing a fantastic climb. However, Shepherd responded immediately, snatching the lead back on the very next lap to take the chequered flag.
The gap at the end was incredibly tight, with just 0.25 seconds separating Mark Shepherd and Tim Webb after 19 laps. Tim Webb's consistency was impressive, but Mark Shepherd's late surge proved decisive. Mark K Shepherd secured a solid third place, finishing just ahead of Jimmy Zepp and Ian Foxwell, both of whom completed 17 laps.
Tim Webb actually recorded the fastest lap of the entire race with a blistering 12.03 seconds, a testament to his pace. Despite the close battle at the front, it was Mark Shepherd’s ability to reclaim the lead at the crucial final moment that clinched the win. A truly thrilling display from our Tamiya Tourers drivers tonight!
