Race 1 - Short Course Truck Recap
What a display from James Campbell tonight in the Short Course Truck race! He dominated from the moment the lights went out, leading every single lap of the 19-lap encounter. Not once did he relinquish the lead, crossing the line with a commanding performance that left the rest of the field chasing his dust.
Behind the runaway leader, though, there was plenty of action. Adam Gammage, starting in fourth, fought his way through the field to snatch a superb second place. His charge saw him climb two positions overall, and he even managed to set the fastest lap of the entire race with a blistering 12.100s effort on lap 16. Alan Culham gave it a real go, running second for much of the race and even leading for a few laps early on, before eventually finishing a strong third, just 1.44 seconds behind Gammage.
Keith Griggs ran a consistent race in fourth, completing 13 laps, while Andrew Boakes rounded out the top five, showing good pace but ultimately retiring his truck after 10 laps. A fantastic race for the Short Course Trucks, showcasing some brilliant driving skills around the SMCC polished floor!
