Summer Championship - Round 2: Touring Car A Final
James Weaver has taken a commanding victory in the A Final of the Touring Car class at the Sevenoaks Model Car Club's Summer Championship, Round 2. Weaver was in a class of his own tonight, leading every single lap from lights out to the chequered flag. His fastest lap of 10.26 seconds was also the quickest of the entire race, demonstrating his dominant pace. He finished the 27 laps in a total time of 301.92 seconds, comfortably ahead of the competition.
The battle for the remaining podium spots was where the real drama unfolded. Ian Webb initially held a strong second place, keeping pace with Weaver through the opening stages and completing 24 laps. However, Steve Jenner put in a remarkable charge to secure second place overall, completing 26 laps and finishing just 0.84 seconds behind the winner on total time. Ian Cowe brought his car home in third position, completing 25 laps.
While Martin Timms showed strong pace on lap one, unfortunately, he was unable to complete further laps. The final results see James Weaver at the top, followed by Steve Jenner in second and Ian Cowe in third. A fantastic display of driving from all involved on a busy night at SMCC.
