Buggy A Final: Boag Dominates, Campbell Climbs
What a spectacle for the Buggy A Final at Sevenoaks Model Car Club tonight! Bill Boag put on a masterclass, leading from the first lap to the chequered flag. He was in a class of his own, maintaining his position throughout the entire 21-lap race. His fastest lap of 13.000 seconds also set the benchmark for the entire field, a truly dominant performance.
Behind Boag, the battle was a little more nuanced. James Campbell, starting from fourth on the grid, made a determined charge. He steadily worked his way up, reaching second place by lap six and holding onto it for the remainder of the race. Campbell's consistent pace allowed him to secure a strong second place, finishing just 1.38 seconds behind Boag. Mark Walkden showed flashes of pace, briefly running third, but ultimately finished fifth, with Tim Webb and Peter McKerrow retiring before completing the full race distance.
The other drivers in the A Final, Ian Foxwell, Tim Webb, and Mark Walkden, all faced challenges. Foxwell's buggy did not record any lap times, unfortunately resulting in a DNF. Webb also struggled to maintain pace, completing 19 laps. Despite the mixed fortunes for some, the energy and skill on display were fantastic. Congratulations to Bill Boag on a commanding victory and to James Campbell for a superb drive to second!
