What a finish to the Tamiya Tourers A Final at the Sevenoaks Model Car Club's Summer Championship! Tim Webb has taken a fantastic victory, holding his nerve through a fiercely contested 19-lap race. It wasn't a lights-to-flag affair for Tim, though. Jimmy Zepp made a decisive move on lap 5 to take the lead, and looked set to control proceedings. However, Tim fought back valiantly, reclaiming P1 on lap 9 and holding it all the way to the checkered flag, ultimately winning by a margin of 1.63 seconds.
The battle for the lead was the story of the night. Jimmy Zepp’s Tamiya Tourer showed incredible pace, particularly in the middle part of the race where he set his fastest lap of 14.91 seconds. Tim Webb also showed blistering speed, posting the fastest lap of the entire race with a blistering 14.80 seconds. The gap between them fluctuated, but Tim's consistent pace in the latter stages, with a run of fast laps from lap 9 onwards, proved decisive.
While Tim and Jimmy battled at the front, Martin Timms, Teddy Turner, and George Cordier were unfortunately unable to complete the full race distance, finishing in positions three, four, and five respectively, having completed 18, 16, and 13 laps. A huge congratulations to Tim Webb on his win and to Jimmy Zepp for a superb challenge!
