Batteries

2S 7.4V LiPo or 6-cell 7.2V NiMH

  • • All charging must take place on the main charging table — not at your own pit table.
  • • Charging and discharging must always be done in a closed LiPo-safe container — a hard-sided LiPo/battery safe is preferred, with a LiPo bag as the minimum acceptable option.
  • • Where possible, discharging should be done at home rather than at the track.
  • • Use a LiPo/LiFe-specific charger on CC/CV mode — no other charge profile.
  • • Never exceed 4.2V per cell.
  • • Li-HV users must only charge to 7.4V per BRCA regulations. Random checks will be carried out.
  • • All LiPo/LiFe batteries must be charged at 1C or less while at the track.
  • 1C means the charge current (in Amps) must not exceed the battery’s capacity (in Ah). To work it out: divide the mAh rating by 1000.
  • Example: a 5000mAh pack = 5.0A max charge rate. A 7600mAh pack = 7.6A max.
  • • No restriction on capacity.
